"We would definitely go back to The Hotel du Fort. Everyone was really nice. We wanted extra coffee, it was there. We needed extra towels, they were on it. The room was very large. A suite with two rooms, fridge, microwave, dining table, two TVs, two closets & 1.5 baths. I loved it!! They were sold out due to the Formula 1 Grand Prix races. Subways are close (3 blocks); hotel is quiet, clean & modern. We did end up with a smoking room but the windows opened and A/C worked great. Also, maids had some room spray they used. Montreal is so beautiful!"

"The hotel is conveniently located near downtown. Everything you need is just steps away on St. Catherine Street - shopping, restaurants, and supermarkets. There are two Subway stations nearby. I used Guy-Concordia. The subway is very easy to use. The rooms at the hotel are very spacious. The decor is casual and plain but homey. Beds are comfortable. The maid service is very efficient. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only minor complaint is that the elevators are slow."

We didn't spend much time at the hotel as we spent most of the time sightseeing, but the time we spent there was extremely quiet and restful, just what we needed after each long day of walking, picture taking and eating the wonderful food the city has to offer. We were near the elevator, but never heard it open or close, and we never heard people in the hallway. The room was always clean and the bed was comfortable. The location of the hotel couldn't have been better. We were within walking distance of most all downtown walking tours, nightlife, and 3 metro stations.

"This was our first trip to Montreal and several of us plan to visit again! I cannot say enough about the Hotel and how pleasurably the rooms are, but perhaps even more important is how great the staff is here. Everyone, from Housekeeping to Front Desk to Concierge was friendly, efficient and accommodating.
The Front Desk staff, Sean in particular, knew everything about anything we enquired about and if he didn't, found out quickly. In the hospitality business this is a 5 star rating as contacts and knowledge are key. The Staff was considerate and helpful even when busy.
Breakfast service was really good and the Second Floor is a nice area to start the day!
As a sidebar, the grocery store across the street is fabulous. They have a little of everything and its open very long hours."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel du Fort, considering we have decided a last-minute getaway. it was fairly close to downtown, perfect for someone who likes to go for walks and see the city & architecture. It's next to rue st. catherine but away from the stores, really quiet street I would say. We were there only 1 evening but staff was really friendly, the room was great and clean. If you were looking for something other than the big brand hotels, this might be a good choice for you. Certainly we will go back and stay there next time we are in Montreal."
